The Magic of 35mm Film Photography for Weddings
A wedding is a fleeting moment in time, designed to celebrate the beautiful fact that whilst doing everything else that life demands, we can also find time to fall in love and be damn proud of it.
Your wedding photography isn’t just for sharing on your Instagram story or featuring in Vogue, we’re freezing and distilling memories that you can look back on in years to come, and marvel at how far your love has come when you already thought it was so fully formed.
This is why, alongside digital photography, I shoot 35mm film photography at every wedding. In a world that seems to value convenience above all, film photography allows us to slow down and be mindful. You have to select film photos carefully. Pressing the shutter says “this moment is so important, I’m going to capture it on film”. How wonderful is that?
A Blend of Digital & Analogue: The Best of Both Worlds
While 35mm film is the lazy, hazy Sunday filled with cups of tea and vinyl records, digital photography is an amped up, dolled-up, “it’s the weekend!” Friday night. Digital photography is fast paced and precise. It allows me to capture photos so quickly, sometimes you won’t even know it’s happened, that’s how the best unposed moments get immortalised.
By combining both, I am able to create a wedding gallery that tells the full story of your day. The shining moments captured on film blend beautifully with the wide-reaching array of digital images. Together, they offer a textured, evocative and elevated representation of your wedding day that say “this is us, this is what it was like, this is what it meant.”
London 35mm Photography: Capturing What Matters
No matter where your wedding takes place—whether amongst the lines and angles of London, the wild serenity of the countryside, or a destination that’s special to you—I want your photos to reflect more than just the venue or decor. I want them to reflect who you are.
Film isn’t just a medium—it’s a mindset. It says “we honour the importance of this moment”. It’s about rejecting disposability and appreciating photos for more than just content and 24 hour lifecycle.
